Lou, as she is known to her friends, was born and raised in West Homestead, Pa.
She was married for 58 years and had 2 children. Lou lost her husband and both of her children during a very tragic time of her life. She is very close to her granddaughter Keri and they provide constant support to one another.
Lou has always been active and independent; spending time with her family, friends in the building and at her local Salvation Army. She likes to stay busy and enjoys being with others.
Joining Community LIFE was a difficult decision for Lou. She was afraid the program would take over her life. However, after visiting the Adult Day Center several times, meeting the medical staff and attending several events, Lou was convinced it was the right program for her.
Today, Lou attends the Community LIFE center four days a week and says she loves every minute of it. She participates in all of the activities and especially enjoys being a member of the bell choir.
Lou’s granddaughter Keri states “this program is a God send in helping care for my grandmother and our experience has been nothing but positive!”
