Tsila, was born and raised in Orcha, Belarus where she graduated from the Institute of Russia and worked as an Engineer for over 30 years.
After the death of her husband in 1979, Tsila moved to the United States with her two small children.
Strong, independent and determined, Tsila quickly learned English in order to provide for her family in Pittsburgh. She has a close relationship with both of her children who still live locally and provide support to her.
Tsila joined Community LIFE ten years ago in order to receive her medical care and other supports at one convenient location. Attending the center three days a week allows Tsila to participate in activities she enjoys, such as Kennywood trips, Pittsburgh Pirate Games, monthly outings to the local ethnic grocery store and attending English as a Second Language Classes.
Tsila states that Community LIFE helps to keep her going, “It has been a good 10 years; I don’t know why people wouldn’t want to join”.
