Nurse Manager

Location: East End or Tarentum

Department: Nursing (LPN/RN/CRNP)

Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30a-4:00p

Summary of Job Duties:

This (RN) Nurse Manager position is based in our East End Clinic. This is a highly visible, hands-on RN position responsible for the supervision of daily operations at the Community LIFE Clinic.  Functions supervised include but are not limited to: assigned staff; nursing care; medication management; compliance; safety; patient scheduling; maintenance of proper medical records; supply management; and reporting and monitoring of clinical/quality data.  The (RN) Nurse Manager coordinates the clinic services with the Primary Care Physician, Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), home care scheduler, Home Care Coordinator, RN Case Manager, pharmacy, laboratory, or other providers/vendors involved in the delivery of primary care/outpatient services to LIFE enrollees.  As a member of the Community LIFE Interdisciplinary team, the Nurse Manager also will assist with the development of policies and procedures, strategic and quality plans as assigned.

 

Required Education:

Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school.

Required Licensure:

Valid PA RN license. Valid PA Driver's license.

Required Experience:

At least one to two years RN experience in a health facility or community based setting, preferably dealing with long term care clients and/or the frail elderly.  One to two years of nursing supervisory experience, clinical setting is preferred.

  • Excellent clinical and assessment skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of geriatric nursing practice. 

  • Skill in the application of current nursing procedures and techniques of patient care. 

  • Ability to plan and coordinate nursing care for individuals, families and groups. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively. 

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. 

  • Ability to supervise others in a direct, firm and understanding way. 

  • Ability to accept and utilize guidance. 

  • Ability to perform duties in accordance with ANA Code for Professional Nurses. 

  • Acceptable physical and mental health to carry out the responsibilities of the position.
