Strength Training Benefit

Education Series by Randy Hebert, MD, Medical Director

Strength training is not only for the young. As we age, we may think that we are too old to do strength training. Or we may believe that only aerobic exercise (e.g. walking, jogging, swimming, cycling) is important for health.

Strength training is also important—especially in the elderly. Strength training for as little as twice a week for 15 or so minutes at a time helps with blood pressure, cholesterol, falls, etc.

You are never too old to begin.
